PANGKALPINANG -- Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has become an integral component of PT Timah in carrying out its business processes which aim to have a positive impact on the community and environment around it.
PT Timah consistently implements CSR programs in the company's operational areas. The CSR programs implemented touch various sectors ranging from the environment, health, community economy, preservation of indigenous communities, education, and the economy.
PT Timah's CSR program is implemented sustainably, so that the community can feel the benefits of PT Timah's CSR program and can stimulate the community's economy.
In 2024, the CSR programs that will be implemented by PT Timah include mangrove planting and sea pine planting which will be implemented in several areas.
Apart from that, members of the MIND ID mining industry holding will also continue the fishing ground, coral garden, and squid attractor programs which will involve community groups.
PT Timah will also implement social innovation programs which are implemented according to the potential in each of the Company's operational areas.
In the Health Sector, the Healthy Car Program will continue to provide health services to communities in the company's operational areas. This year, Healthy Cars will visit 48 points.
To support the stunting alleviation program, PT Timah will also re-implement the Kemunting Program to educate about preventing and handling stunting.
To support education, PT Timah will continue the Pemali Boarding School program, which is an educational scholarship for communities around the mine. Apart from that, carrying out training to increase teacher insight.
PT Timah also supports efforts to preserve the Mapur indigenous community and supports cultural and community activities around the mine.
The benefits of the CSR program carried out by PT Timah in previous years have been felt, such as improving the community's economy and supporting the empowerment of community groups.
PT Timah's commitment to implementing the program bore sweet fruit, in 2023 PT Timah received the Indonesia Best CSR Award 2023 organized by The Iconomics.
