WEST BANGKA -- To help meet the blood needs of the people in West Bangka, PT Timah Tbk Metallurgical Unit Muntok held a blood donor. The activity entitled "We are Healthy, They Are Safe" was held at the Sriwijaya Unmet Building, Friday (2/12/2022).
This blood donation activity was attended by employees of PT Timah Tbk, members of the TNI, Polri, and the surrounding community.
Head of the Organizing Committee, Riza Maulana Ibrahim, said that PT Timah's blood donation service was a form of concern for others to help patients who need blood.
"This activity is a form of concern for others because we know that many patients currently need blood. So we are moved to raise aid, through social action to donate blood," said Riza.
The UTD officer at Sejiran Setason Liani Hospital acknowledged that the need for blood at the RSUD continues to increase. He emphasized that the blood donor service helps meet the need for blood so far.
"The need for blood has continued to increase, due to the increase in patients who need it, both DHF, anemia and bleeding patients, this has caused UTD to lack bloodstock," he said
"A blood donation social service program like this has helped meet the need for blood," he explained.
The Blood Donation Social Service activity received support from the West Bangka Forkopimda, Dandim 0431 West Bangka Lt. Col. Deri Indrawan welcomed the activity.
"This activity is positive and has human values, the Kodim will support this kind of activity, because what is obtained today will be very beneficial for people who need blood," emphasized Dandim 0431.
In the same vein, Wawan (31), is a donor who admits that he routinely donates blood to help others.
"Activities carried out by PT Timah like this positively invite us to help others who need blood. Incidentally, today we are healthy and it's time to be able to donate and support the activities of PT Timah," he said.
Apart from carrying out blood donors, PT Timah Tbk also supports orphans in Muntok.
