KARIMUN -- PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk continues to demonstrate its commitment to supporting communities through its Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program, providing assistance to those in need across its operational areas.
The company once again showed its concern by providing financial support for the medical treatment of Hasan, a resident of Gemuruh Village, West Kundur District, Karimun Regency.
Hasan has been diagnosed with bone cancer and has undergone various medical treatments. However, due to financial constraints, his treatment had to be discontinued, and he is now bedridden.
Vera, Hasan’s wife, shared that her husband’s illness initially stemmed from a workplace accident. Despite his condition, he continued working until his health deteriorated further.
“He has undergone surgery on his ribs. However, we could not continue the treatment due to financial limitations. Several follow-up examinations, including sending medical samples to Jakarta, could not be carried out because we did not have the funds,” Vera explained.
In this situation, Hasan’s family turned to alternative treatments to help alleviate his pain. Nevertheless, they still hope to continue proper medical treatment.
For Vera, the assistance from PT TIMAH means a great deal, as it allows them to continue Hasan’s medical care. She hopes her husband will recover soon.
“We are very grateful for this assistance. Thank you to PT TIMAH for its concern, which has greatly helped with my husband’s treatment,” she added.
Meanwhile, the Head of Hamlet II of Gemuruh Village, Ainawati, stated that Hasan’s condition is indeed very concerning. As the head of the family, Hasan is currently unable to carry out normal activities.
Previously, the local community had provided support through self-help initiatives, given the family’s limited financial condition.
“Mr. Hasan’s condition is very serious and requires significant medical expenses. The village took the initiative to request assistance because the family is unable to afford the costs,” Ainawati explained.
She also added that Hasan has young children who need care and support, making this assistance very meaningful for the continuation of his treatment and the well-being of his family.
“Thank you to PT TIMAH for helping and caring for Hasan’s family. We hope PT TIMAH will continue to support the community,” she said. (*)
