*PT Timah's Fostered Partners Hire 25 Employees on Holidays

BANGKA BARAT - Pastries are one of the snacks that are in great demand by the public. Seeing the pastry business opportunity, Hetti tried this business by producing peanut butter and pastel cakes in 2004.

Hetti Saldi's pastry business, a resident of Tempilang, West Bangka Regency, is in great demand by the public. The savory and delicious taste of making cakes with the brand 'Kue Salya' is increasingly being hunted by residents.

Seeing the increasing market demand, Hetti continues to develop its products by adding the types of cakes it produces.

He said that at first, he was not good at making cakes, but armed with a passion for learning, participating in various cake-making training, and the experience of his workers, Hetti's abilities increased.

"I didn't know how to make these pastries, but I learned from the employees who work at my place, so now I continue to produce soda cakes and sago rintak cakes," said the owner of this Salya Cake.

With the higher demand for cakes produced by Hetti, he decided to become a foster partner of PT Timah Tbk in 2017 to increase capital. However, not only the capital he gets, he is even often invited to exhibitions to introduce his products.

Not only included in various exhibitions, but Hetti's products were also given a marketing place at the UMKM Gallery of PT Timah Tbk at Depati Amir Airport.

He admitted, his turnover continued to increase after becoming a foster partner of PT Timah Tbk. The number of workers also continues to grow, on a typical day he employs six workers. However, during religious holidays such as Eid, Ruahan, Maulid, he employs 25 people to produce various types of pastries.

With this effort, Hetti can help the local people's economy as an employee in his place. This has a positive impact on the existence of a business owned by one of the fostered partners of PT Timah Tbk.

"On normal days there are only six employees, but when faced with big days like Eid, there are about 25 employees working and they are also residents around here," said Hetti.

Every week the Hetti production house can make thousands of Soda cake seeds, with a turnover of around IDR 2 million in one production.

While on big days, Hetti not only produces Soda cakes and Rintak Sago cakes, he is even able to make dozens of types of cakes that are ordered from his customers.

"During Eid al-Fitr, we also produce various types of other cakes, such as peanut butter, bipang Kacang, peyek, paris rice cake, pastels, sponge cake, rintak board cake, peanut cake, moon cake, nastar cake, cat tongue and semprong. ," he said.

Being a foster partner of PT Timah Tbk made Hetti Saldi's business increasingly known to the people on Bangka Island. No kidding, the product Soda cake which is a typical cake from Tempilang is marketed by Hetti throughout the region on Bangka Island.

"We market this Soda cake and Rintak Sago cake to Belinyu, Sungailiat, Pangkalpinang, Mentok, Kelapa and almost all of Bangka Island," said Hetti.

With the knowledge that Hetti got from attending the training and the experience of his employees, now Hetti has become an instructor in every cake product training held by the relevant agency or agency.

"We have been asked several times by the relevant agencies and agencies to become instructors for training, and thank God we are now able to share knowledge with others," he said. (**)
