WEST BANGKA -- Day 3 of the arrival of the 2024 BUMN Fun Homecoming participants with PT Timah in Tanjung Kalian was safe and smooth. The free homecoming group are students studying at universities on the island of Sumatra
After traveling by fast boat, 91 students arrived at Tanjung Kalian port, on Sunday (7/4/2024).
Chairman of the Sumatra Regional Group, Reza, admitted that the participants were enthusiastic about taking part in the homecoming program with PT Timah.
"The participants who took part in going home together were enthusiastic because PT Timah, one of the state-owned companies, accommodated students in Bangka Belitung to meet their families," he said.
According to him, this homecoming program is very helpful for students and the community. He hopes that this program will continue to run every year.
Anggita Putri, a student at UIN Raden Patah Palembang, said that the BUMN Free Homecoming program not only helps but also builds solidarity between students.
"The program is good because it helps overseas children who want to go home. But sometimes some don't have the means to go home, with this Free Homecoming their wish can come true. Another benefit is that we can build solidarity with others. There are those from Lampung, "In Padang, we from all over the country gather together at this Homecoming Together," he said.
Likewise, Padang State University student Imel admitted that even though he was tired, the Free Homecoming program was fun.
"Even though we are tired because of traffic jams, the PT Timah Homecoming Program is fun and allows you to gather with your family. Hopefully, in the future this program will be even better," said Imel.
In the same vein, Rafiki, a student at UIN Raden Patah Palembang, admitted that this was his first time taking part in PT Timah's Free Homecoming program.
"PT Timah's free homecoming is fun and exciting. We get the experience of going home with friends, which is why this is our first time taking part in Homecoming Together," he said. (**)
