Building Togetherness with Employees, PT Timah Tbk is Committed to Supporting the Aspirations of the Trade Unions

PANGKALPINANG -- Industrial Relations between companies and workers that run harmoniously and conductively can accelerate the company's progress.

Prioritizing the spirit of togetherness and trust, building a shared commitment to creating a good partnership between management and all employees continues to be encouraged by PT Timah Tbk.

Fulfillment of employee rights is contained in the Collective Labor Agreement (PKB). Through the CLA, PT Timah Tbk ensures clear rights and obligations between employees and the company by fostering a sense of mutual understanding, respect, and trust in order to support the progress of PT Timah Tbk.

This member of the Indonesian Mining Industry holding MIND ID has around 10,000 thousand workers to support the company's business processes.

"The number of organic PT Timah employees is 4,235 people. But apart from that, there are also outsourcing staff, other support staff, and local partners who support operational and other supporting activities," said PT Timah Tbk Head of Human Resources Division Rendi Kurniawan.

“If the accumulated number of workers involved in the company's activities can reach more than 10,000 people. Filled with the majority of local workers, with the domain where the company's activities work," continued Rendy.

In the momentum of Labor Day which is celebrated every May 1, Rendy said that Labor Day is synonymous with the struggle of workers to fight for their rights. However, at PT Timah Tbk through a mutually agreed PKB, it has accommodated workers' rights.

In addition, PT Timah Tbk also makes policies or company decisions to provide workers' rights in supporting worker productivity.

Furthermore, he explained that the relationship between management and workers is overshadowed by Pancasila industrial relations, mutually supporting one another. Where workers are company partners to achieve optimal productivity and become a formidable team.

"Industrial relations that are Pancasilaist are the establishment of a workers' union. At PT Timah Tbk itself, there is a trade union, to this day there are two unions. And PT Timah really appreciates and upholds freedom of association, which the company believes unions use to protect or support the company," said Rendy.

This TINS ??Coded Issuer also provides opportunities for employees to develop skills and collaborate in achieving the company's vision and mission.

“The company provides wages, incentives, and other benefits, both in the form of money and in the form of self-development, such as individual planning. There are also awards for employees who have innovation and other things. Especially if PT Timah itself can be said to provide workers' rights above a decent standard of living," Rendy explained.

This Labor Day commemoration, PT Timah Tbk is committed to continuing to create good relations between workers and management. In addition, PT Timah will continue to give appreciation for performance so that workers are more prosperous and the company is more advanced.

It is undeniable that Rendy, in his journey to build industrial relations, has had various dynamics. However, this is not a barrier because both parties have the same opportunity to express appreciation both formally and informally.

"Through the momentum of this Labor Day, we hope that employees will be better and more prosperous. Can understand each other and continue to hand in hand in running the company. And it cannot be separated from the contribution of employees, both from the top level to the operational level directly. "Make this Labor Day for us to get the values ??that we have built well so far, namely the values ??of Trust, Harmony, Collaboration, and also Loyal values ??that can be echoed for the sustainability of the company," he said.

Meanwhile, General Chairperson of the Tin Employees Association (IKT) Fauzi Trisana said industrial relations between management and IKT in particular were going well, in accordance with the agreed PKB.

"It is very granted, through the PKB clauses, IKT voiced its aspirations. IKT is always involved in the company's agenda, especially in decision making, especially with regard to industrial and employment issues," he said.

Nevertheless, his party is still fighting for several employee rights such as employee insurance which is still in the transition process, as well as in the new PKB negotiations, there are several employee rights that need to be clarified again.

"IKT hopes that management can take strategic steps in an effort to increase production, as well as improve employee welfare later," he said. (*)
