PANGKALPINANG -- PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk continues to demonstrate its commitment to supporting the creativity of the younger generation through its support for art and music communities in Bangka Belitung.
One of these efforts is supporting an event initiated by the Babel Bass Community titled A Night of Collaboration, held in Pangkalpinang on Sunday (April 5, 2026).
The Babel Bass Community expressed appreciation for the support provided by PT TIMAH. This support is seen not only as helping make the event possible, but also as an effort to engage young people and encourage the regeneration of musicians across all instruments, not just bass players.
“PT TIMAH has supported our activities. We hope this support will continue so that the arts scene in Bangka Belitung can keep growing,” said Anggi Yansyah, Head of the A Night of Collaboration organizing committee.
The event also featured a music workshop led by Franky Sadikin, a musician and maestro from Jakarta. His presence is expected to provide new insights and enhance the musical skills of local artists.
Anggi explained that the workshop was designed to create an inclusive learning space without competitive pressure, allowing musicians to improve their skills, creativity, and confidence.
“We hope A Night of Collaboration can grow into a larger and more thematic event. In the future, it is expected to involve not only bass players but also musicians from all instruments in a single event, such as a Serumpun Jazz concept,” he said.
PT TIMAH’s support is also seen as a strategic step in encouraging the regeneration of musicians in Bangka Belitung—not only for bass players but for the entire music community across various instruments. This effort is expected to strengthen the local music ecosystem so it can grow and become more competitive.
“This is part of an effort to engage the younger generation. We hope the regeneration of musicians remains strong and that works by Bangka Belitung artists can be recognized at the national and even international level,” he added. (*)
