BELITUNG -- PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk continues to provide support to communities in its operational areas, particularly in the health sector. This time, assistance was provided to Inayah Athifa Zahra, an eight-month-old baby from Air Rayak, Tanjungpandan, Belitung Regency, who is currently undergoing intensive medical treatment in Jakarta.
Inayah is the younger of two children. Since she was two months old, she has experienced health problems, prompting her parents to seek a series of medical examinations and treatments to better understand her condition.
Rika, Inayah’s mother, said her daughter has a condition related to the development of her head circumference as well as a neurological disorder. To receive further treatment, Inayah is currently undergoing care at Harapan Kita Women and Children’s Hospital (RSAB Harapan Kita) in Jakarta, where she has been staying with her parents for the past several months.
“It started when she was two months old with seizures and stiffness. After she was examined, doctors found a neurological disorder that requires medical treatment,” Rika said.
As Inayah continues what is expected to be a lengthy course of treatment, assistance from PT TIMAH has provided meaningful support to her family. The assistance will be used to help cover the cost of medication.
Rika said Inayah’s medical needs are substantial, as her condition requires intensive care and long-term therapy.
“The long-term plan still involves therapy and intensive treatment, and it will take quite some time,” she said.
Amid the considerable cost of Inayah’s treatment, the family’s financial situation has also presented its own challenges. Rika is a homemaker, while her husband works as a daily laborer, and the family has faced difficulties covering medical expenses.
According to Rika, PT TIMAH’s assistance has been very helpful to her family, particularly in covering the cost of medication and the ongoing treatment Inayah still needs.
“Alhamdulillah, this has been very helpful in covering my daughter’s treatment and medication costs. I hope PT TIMAH can continue to help people who are struggling to afford medical treatment,” she said.
The assistance reflects PT TIMAH’s continued attention to the needs of communities in its operational areas, including supporting people who need assistance in accessing medical treatment. (*)
