Bringing Healthcare Services Closer to the Community, PT Timah’s Mobile Health Unit Visits Pasir Putih Village in South Bangka

SOUTH BANGKA – Free healthcare services are highly anticipated by many, especially when healthcare is brought directly to residential areas.

This was the experience of Zulaidah, a resident of Pasir Putih Village, Tukak Sadai District, South Bangka Regency when she visited PT Timah’s Mobile Health Unit at the Pasir Putih Village Office on Thursday (October 3, 2024).

Zulaidah and her family took advantage of the free healthcare services offered by the Mobile Health Unit. She expressed her satisfaction with the healthcare provided by PT Timah.

“I just finished receiving treatment with my family. My impression of the Mobile Health Unit is that the doctor is friendly, and the service is excellent—from registration to receiving medication, everything is orderly,” she said.

She hopes that PT Timah’s Mobile Health Unit can regularly visit their village so that the community can continue to benefit from the services.

“I hope it will be held regularly, not just this one time, so that we can receive continuous healthcare services,” she added.

Mursiah, another resident, echoed this sentiment, saying that the Mobile Health Unit helps improve access to healthcare for the community.

“I hope they come back again, so they can help improve the health of the residents,” she said.

Meanwhile, Acting Head of Pasir Putih Village, Muhammad Fajar, noted that the community was enthusiastic about the arrival of PT Timah’s Mobile Health Unit, as it made healthcare services more accessible.

“The community is excited. We fully support this program and hope that they can come to our village several times a year. The nearest healthcare facility is quite far in Toboali, so having the service at the village office helps reduce costs,” he said.

In the future, he hopes PT Timah will collaborate with the village government in various sectors, not just healthcare, but also in fisheries and tourism.

“Thank you to PT Timah for providing healthcare services that were warmly welcomed by the community. Hopefully, we can collaborate in other areas as well,” he expressed.

A total of 132 residents came to have their health checked by PT Timah’s Mobile Health Unit. They flocked to the village office to receive free healthcare services from PT Timah. (*)
