BNN Babel Collaborates with PT Timah Tbk's Amoi Village to Increase the Expertise of Former Drug Addicts

WEST BANGKA -- The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province collaborated with PT Timah Tbk's Amoi Village in Tanjung Village, Muntok District, West Bangka Regency to foster former drug addicts so they can be productive without drugs.

This coaching program is part of rehabilitation for former drug addicts. BNN in collaboration with Kampung Amoi, PT Timah Tbk, and Community-Based Intervention (IBM) held training on Livestock Livestock and Catfish Feed Making which was held at the Kampung Amoi Catfish Nursery, Monday (5/11/2022).

Kampung Amoi is one of the social innovation programs carried out by Members of the Indonesian MIND ID Mining Holding. Kampung Amoi has the acronym Agro Mandiri and Integrated.

The social innovation of Amoi Village is an effort by TINS-coded issuers to improve the welfare and independence of the community around the mine.

Bangka Belitung Province BNN Rehabilitation Coordinator Sri Indrawati said Amoi Village was considered capable of becoming a BNN Babel partner in supporting the rehabilitation program.

"Kampung Amoi is being looked at by the provincial BNN because of its many activities, PT Timah's program by empowering the community. It is hoped that the district can provide training or positive activities for ex-drug addicts in their recovery so they don't get hooked on drugs again," said Sri.

According to her, this skills training is a series of community-based interventions involving recovery agents.

"So that they have skills when they return to society, they are productive. With the skills used, they can finance their daily lives," she said.

One of the training participants said that Deno said he was happy to receive training at Kampung Amoi.

"Our difficulty is that we don't have expertise and capital. We are happy to have the training opportunity at Kampung Amoi, so we have positive activities every day," said Deno.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Tanjung Jaya Farmers Group, Hendrik, is willing to become a recovery agent for former drug addicts.

"We certainly support and are willing to provide training on how to make animal feed and catfish breeding for these younger siblings, so they recover and forget about drugs," said Hendrix.

In the same vein, the Tanjung Agustina sub-district farmer group supervisor appreciated the National Narcotics Agency's program that included Kampung Amoi in a community-based rehabilitation program.

"This program is very good, of course, we support the Provincial BNN program to make Kampung Amoi a community-based rehabilitation program," he said.
