JAKARTA -- A blood donation drive was held as part of PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk’s 50th Anniversary Community Service Month, themed "Tin for the People," at the Company’s Jakarta Representative Office on Thursday (August 6, 2026).
The initiative reflects PT TIMAH’s commitment to supporting the availability of blood supplies while raising public awareness about the importance of donating blood on a regular basis. A total of 68 participants took part in the activity, including PT TIMAH employees, business partners, members of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri), as well as members of the public.
Since early morning, participants arrived to undergo health screenings before donating blood. The strong turnout demonstrated a shared commitment to helping others through a simple act that can offer hope to patients in need of blood transfusions.
In addition to helping maintain blood supplies, the event also served as an educational platform to promote the importance of regular blood donation. Donating blood not only benefits recipients but also contributes to the donor’s overall health and well-being.
One of the participants, Mahadi, a Captain at the Indonesian Army Military Police Headquarters (Puspomad), said that donating blood has become a habit he always looks forward to.
He recalled that his first blood donation came after encouragement from his superior. Although he was initially afraid of needles, the experience completely changed his perspective.
"I used to be afraid of getting injections. The first time I donated blood was because my superior encouraged me to do it. Over time, I experienced the benefits myself, and now it has become something I truly enjoy. Besides helping others, activities like this also allow us to check our health through the medical screening provided," he said.
For Mahadi, donating blood is more than just a social activity—it is a simple way to bring hope to others.
"It feels good to be able to help. A single unit of blood that we donate could mean so much to someone who is ill and in need of a transfusion. Hopefully, this simple act can make a significant difference," he added.
A similar sentiment was expressed by Difky Arisitiana, a participant from Cakra Medika. She said she had donated blood five times and did not want to miss another opportunity to take part in the humanitarian initiative organized by PT TIMAH.
According to her, blood donation provides benefits not only to those in need but also to the donors themselves.
"I’m happy to be part of this activity. Besides helping people who need blood, I also feel more refreshed after donating because the body produces new blood cells. So, the benefits are shared by both the recipients and the donors," she said.
She also encouraged people who meet the health requirements to donate blood regularly.
"If your health condition allows, don’t hesitate to donate blood. It’s good for your body, and the blood you donate is greatly needed by patients undergoing medical treatment. Hopefully, more people will be inspired to share and help others through blood donation," she said.
On the occasion of PT TIMAH’s 50th anniversary, participants also expressed their appreciation for the Company’s continued commitment to organizing social initiatives that provide direct benefits to the community.
"Happy 50th Anniversary to PT TIMAH. Wishing the Company continued success and growth. May it continue to deliver greater benefits to the community and remain a company that makes Indonesia proud," he said.
