Beware of Super Flu, PT TIMAH and PT DAK Provide Employees with Health Education and Medical Check-Ups

PANGKALPINANG -- PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk, together with its subsidiary PT DAK, continues to strengthen its commitment to improving employee health through an educational Health Talk program on super flu, held in a hybrid format from the PT DAK office on Friday (April 10, 2026).

This activity is part of the company’s efforts to build a healthy lifestyle culture in the workplace and to raise awareness about health issues.

In addition to the health education session, PT DAK, in collaboration with PT Primaya Hospital, also conducted medical check-ups for employees as an early detection effort for their health conditions.

Acting Director of PT DAK, Anggun Wulandari, stated that the Health Talk aims to increase employee awareness of the importance of maintaining good health, especially amid unpredictable weather conditions.

She added that the company continues to provide tangible support for employee well-being by offering health facilities and a supportive work environment. However, individual awareness remains the key factor.

With a healthy body, employees are expected to work more productively, stay focused, and be able to innovate and perform at their best.

“With a healthy body and mind, we can be more productive, more focused, and able to generate creative and innovative ideas at work,” she added.

During the Health Talk session, the company invited an internal medicine specialist, dr. Vivi Angelia, Sp.PD, who provided insights into the super flu phenomenon.

She explained that super flu is an influenza infection with a faster transmission rate compared to common seasonal flu.

“Super flu spreads easily and rapidly, especially through droplets released when coughing or sneezing,” she explained.

The main symptoms to watch for include high fever, muscle and joint pain, persistent dry cough, headache, sore throat, and runny nose.

To prevent transmission, dr. Vivi recommended several measures, such as getting a flu vaccination, avoiding crowds, wearing masks, washing hands regularly, and practicing proper cough and sneeze etiquette. Maintaining a strong immune system through balanced nutrition, especially by consuming fruits, is also essential.

Through this Health Talk program, PT TIMAH and PT DAK hope to enhance employee awareness and concern for health, creating a healthy, productive, and sustainable work environment. (*)
