BANGKA -- The series of social programs to commemorate the 49th Anniversary of PT Timah continues to roll out across the company’s operational areas. Most recently, PT Timah held a Mass Circumcision event, a Blood Donation Drive, and Free Health Checkups at the Krida Stania Building in Belinyu District, Bangka Regency, Bangka Belitung Islands Province, on Tuesday (July 29, 2025).
The activities, carried out under the theme "For the Red and White," were met with enthusiasm by the local community. Hundreds of children participated in the free circumcision program. PT Timah also distributed gift packages to the circumcised children as a gesture of care and to bring joy to the children living around its operational areas.
In addition to the circumcision event, hundreds of other residents also took part in the blood donation drive and took advantage of the free health services provided by PT Timah.
Nurzali, a parent from Simpang Tiga whose child participated in the circumcision, expressed gratitude for the event held by PT Timah in Belinyu. He said the program was very helpful, especially for families with limited financial means.
“Alhamdulillah, I’m very thankful to PT Timah. This program is extremely helpful, especially for people like us with modest incomes. Thanks to this mass circumcision, my son was able to get circumcised without incurring high costs. In addition to the free procedure, he also received a gift package with useful items for daily use,” he said.
Meanwhile, the blood donation drive reflects PT Timah’s commitment to supporting the availability of blood supplies in the Bangka Belitung Islands, particularly in Bangka Regency.
The high level of enthusiasm from both the community and PT Timah employees was evident in the number of participants who voluntarily came to donate blood. With a spirit of giving and helping others, this blood donation activity not only contributed to regional blood supplies but also fostered a sense of solidarity within the community.
The free health services, which have been provided in several of PT Timah’s operational areas, were also offered in Belinyu. Residents received health checkups that included blood pressure, cholesterol, uric acid, and blood sugar screenings, along with consultations with professional medical personnel.
Narita Dwiyana, a participant in the free health checkups and a medical professional at the Provincial Mental Hospital of Bangka Belitung, expressed her appreciation to PT Timah for its tangible care for the Belinyu community, especially in the health sector.
“I think what PT Timah is doing is amazing, providing free health services like this for the people in Belinyu. These checkups are something the community really needs. I hope PT Timah will continue to offer free health services and remain committed to public health in Bangka Belitung,” she said.
PT Timah's Department Head of Corporate Communication, Anggi Siahaan, said the company’s Social Month is an annual program as part of PT Timah's commitment to sharing joy with the community.
"Through these Social Month activities, we hope to strengthen harmony and PT Timah’s contributions to the community. We also hope that the benefits of these programs can be directly felt by the people," he said.
The 49th Anniversary Social Month of PT Timah has already been held in several operational regions, including Karimun Regency, Riau Islands Regency, East Belitung Regency, and Bangka Regency.
