PANGKALPINANG – Starting from a hobby of using perfume, Dewi (34) and her husband started to work in the perfume business which they have been doing since six years ago.
The perfume business with the brand 'Rizky Perfume' is located on Jalan Depati Hamzah, Air Itam, Pangkalpinang City.
Dewi said that initially, this business was only a side job because she and her husband also worked. However, over time it turned out that the business they were involved in continued to grow and was quite promising economically.
Even though Dewi said they had no expertise in perfume, they continued to try to develop this business because they saw a promising opportunity.
"At first it was because we liked using perfume and were just trying to open this business as a side. Because my husband and I also worked before. But after we got involved, my husband and I finally decided to stop working and run this business," said Dewi.
According to Dewi, before opening this perfume business they had also opened a basic food shop. This is because the husband and wife do have a hobby of trading. However, now they only focus on the perfume business.
Rizky Perfume's business, which Dewi is running, is growing after they become fostered partners of PT Timah Tbk. This is evidenced by the continued increase in the number of scent variants they have.
According to her, in one month they can spend around 20-30 liters of perfume.
"At first we only sold about 30 more types of aromas, but after getting a capital loan from PT Timah we used it to develop the business. Like adding aromas, which have now reached more than 100 aromas and stall rental fees," she said.
With a capital loan from PT Timah Tbk, they were able to open a second branch in the Semabung area to develop Rizky Perfume's marketing.
"Currently we are still focusing on these two branches, but we do not rule out the possibility that if we do get a strategic and good location, we will also open the next branches," she said.
Consistency in maintaining quality and service has made Rizky perfume increasingly known. They also carry out marketing strategies such as providing promos for customers who have purchased five times to get a free one-time refill bonus.
"The advantage of our perfume is that it has a quality source, a luxurious fragrance, and a long-lasting fragrance. Inshaallah, we are always trustworthy in maintaining the quality of our perfume, this is evidenced by the increasing number of our customers," he explained.
Dewi hopes that PT Timah Tbk can continue to help the businesses of the Bangka Belitung people.
