WEST BANGKA -- To support the development of community-managed tourism, PT Timah assisted in the construction of the Tanjung Pakdan gate, Rubiah Bay, Tanjung Village, Mentok District, West Bangka Regency.
Previously, the Tanjung Pakdan area was a pilot tourist location, so residents planned to build a gate to beautify the tourist area.
PT Timah also made this gate by handing over assistance to the Chair of RW 06 Telur Rubiah, Syarifudin at the CSR Office, Processing and Smelting Division, Thursday (26/9/2024).
The chairman of RW 06 Teluk Rubiah, Tanjung Syariffudin sub-district, said that the funds he received to construct Gapura Tanjung Pakdan were to support the plan to become a model village.
"With this gate, it is hoped that people, especially in Mentok and other areas, will have a tourist spot at the end of Rubiah Bay," he said.
According to him, PT Timah often provides assistance to their residents, such as assistance for religious holidays, social assistance, and development of tourist areas.
"The residents of RT 06 are adjacent to PT Timah's operations, or neighbors. So PT Timah cares about our residents, there is a lot of assistance provided to the residents," he said.
Meanwhile, the Acting Head of Mentok Subdistrict Rini Indra Sari appreciated PT Timah's assistance for its residents.
"Hopefully what PT Timah has given to the Mentok community will be a blessing for the PT Timah company, and will continue to exist in the mining world," he hoped. (*)
