WEST BANGKA -- The Religious Consultative Body (BAMAG) of the Indonesian Christian Religious Institute (LKII) West Bangka will hold Christmas with Christians in West Bangka. To support this religious activity, PT Timah Tbk offered assistance to BAMAG LKII West Bangka.
The assistance was handed over by the Head of the Metallurgical Unit Wiyono to the Chairman of the Religious Consultative Body (BAMAG) of the West Bangka Indonesian Christian Religious Institute (LKII) Agustinus Zebua, accompanied by Treasurer Pastor Dong Hian San and Advisor Marudur Saragih, Friday (23/12/2022)
Head of BAMAG LKII West Bangka Agustinus Zebua said BAMAG oversees 32 churches throughout West Bangka that will carry out Christmas Together.
"PT Timah's assistance will be used for worship and Christmas celebrations with Christians, which will be held at the GBI Parittiga church followed by 32 churches in West Bangka in January 2023," said Agustinus.
He explained that BAMAG LKKI is a religious organization formed in 2000 which is a liaison partner for the Church with the government and stakeholders.
"Hopefully this BAMAG will play a role and be useful later for the community and become a liaison between the Church and the government and stakeholders in West Bangka," he hoped.
He appreciated PT Timah Tbk's concern for supporting this Christmas Together activity.
"We hope that PT Timah will continue to support us, because BAMAG is a mass organization that continues to work to help a pluralistic society with high tolerance, and we want to continue to foster this tolerance," he explained.
In the same vein, West Bangka BAMAG LKKI Treasurer Pastor Dong Hian San added that BAMAG would also become a mentor for Christians.
"The presence of BAMAG LKKI apart from being a government partner and stakeholder, we wish to become a forum for coaching and outreach to help the community, especially church members, elevate their economic status," he added.
Likewise, the BAMAG Advisor LKKI West Bangka who is also the Chairman of the West Bangka DPRD Marudur Saragih expressed his appreciation for the support for the Joint Christmas celebrations held by BAMAG.
"We really appreciate, are grateful for PT Timah's help and support for the joint Christmas celebration in Parittiga. We are inviting all Christians in the West Bangka district because this celebration strengthens the love of one another in this Christmas celebration. With the help of PT Timah, the celebration will go smoothly," said Marudur.
