Assisting the Education Sector in South Bangka, Qur'an Boarding School "Cahaya" Gratefully Receives Assistance from PT Timah Tbk

SOUTH BANGKA - PT Timah Tbk continues to support the progress of education in the company's operational areas as part of its efforts to enhance the quality of human resources. Through its CSR program, PT Timah Tbk has once again provided assistance to the education sector, this time extending support to the Qur'an Boarding School "Cahaya," located in Rias Village, Toboali District, South Bangka Regency, Bangka Belitung Islands Province.

The Qur'an Boarding School "Cahaya" is one of the highly sought-after boarding schools in the community. The serene and comfortable atmosphere in the boarding school area adds to its allure. However, due to limited facilities, they have not been able to accommodate more students.

Ustadz Al Ansori, the leader of Qur'an Boarding School "Cahaya," stated that they are continually striving to improve the facilities of the boarding school to support the quality of education and the comfort of the students.

"Many parents want to enroll their children in our boarding school, but due to insufficient facilities, we cannot accommodate everyone. We don't want to force a large number of students, but the buildings we have are still lacking. We don't want it to have a negative impact on the students," he said.

He expressed appreciation for PT Timah Tbk, who has shown concern for helping the education sector in South Bangka, especially in their boarding school. The assistance from this member of the Mining Industry Holding MIND ID will be used for the construction of water sanitation facilities in the boys' dormitory. With 40 male students, the current ratio of bathrooms is inadequate.

"We have 40 male students, and there are currently 4 bathroom units for males, with some units no longer functioning. The assistance from PT Timah Tbk will be used to increase the number of sanitation facilities," he explained.

He mentioned their plan to build around 5 or 6 additional bathroom units, to be constructed gradually.

"At least, with that number, we believe it will be sufficient," he added.

He noted that they did not expect to receive assistance from PT Timah Tbk since they had previously requested help from the company.

"We were skeptical that our request would be assisted by PT Timah, but thankfully, help arrived amid our despair. Every year, we request assistance for the construction of the boarding school, and thankfully, this year, we received that assistance," he said.

He hoped that in the future, PT Timah Tbk would continue to help their boarding school so that their desire to increase the number of students could be realized with adequate facilities.

"Thank you to PT Timah for providing assistance to our boarding school. With this kind of assistance, we hope that PT Timah becomes more recognized and continues to benefit all communities. The presence of PT Timah Tbk is a source of pride for us, showing that PT Timah is present in the midst of society, and we have felt its presence," he concluded. (*)
