PANGKALPINANG -- Asep Mastur (57) has benefited from the presence of PT Timah Tbk's Micro Small Business Funding Program (PUMK) which has helped him in adding equipment to his motorcycle repair shop business.
The workshop, which is located on Jalan Bandesh, Asam Village, Rangkui District, Pangkalpinang City, started operating 15 years ago. However, due to limited capital Asep was constrained in developing this business.
For this reason, last year he took advantage of the PUMK program to add facilities and infrastructure in his workshop so that he could serve the needs of arriving customers.
"I took advantage of the capital loan from the PUMK program to be able to add to the infrastructure at the workshop, such as buying special tools to repair automatic motorbikes, repair workshop buildings and add equipment," he said.
He said that currently, the equipment for repairing motorbikes continues to develop, especially with the emergence of various latest technologies that complement motorized vehicles.
To add this equipment, he said, he also needed capital, so with the revolving funds from PT Timah Tbk, he used it to buy new equipment.
"From that capital, I also bought some new equipment, so it's easier and faster to do the job. Because now these motorbike tools continue to develop. Those of us who repair motorbikes also have to add tools," he said.
According to him, the existence of this new equipment such as a CVT opener can make it easier to work and speed up processing time. He can also increase the number of customers he can serve.
"Thank God, our business is sometimes busy, sometimes quiet. But thank God, there must be one every day. Apart from the motorbike repair shop, I also sometimes repair lawn machines and IT machines," he said.
For him, the PUMK program from PT Timah Tbk has helped him in running his motorcycle repair business. Apart from that, it has many conveniences.
"With a program like this, PT Timah Tbk cares about small MSMEs so they can advance their business. There are many benefits from this program," he said.
He hopes PT Timah Tbk's PUMK program can continue so that more MSMEs can benefit from it.
"It's very helpful for small businesses like us, especially with the current economic conditions, ebb and flow. Hopefully, this program will continue so that more and more people will be helped," he said.
