As of November 2022, PT Timah Tbk's Land Reclamation Achievements Have Reached 91 Percent

PANGKALPINANG -- PT Timah Tbk is committed to protecting the environment. As of November 2022, this TINS-coded issuer noted that the land reclamation realization reached 366.5 hectares or 91 percent of the 2022 land reclamation target of 402.5 hectares.

Reclamation by PT Timah Tbk is a reflection of PT Timah Tbk's commitment to implementing good mining practices. The reclamation is part of the company's business process which will continue to be carried out sustainably.

This member of the Indonesian MIND ID Mining Holding consistently carries out land reclamation. The reclamation carried out by TINS ??refers to Law No. 3 of 2022 concerning mineral and coal mining.

TINS also complies with placing reclamation and/or post-mining guarantee funds by applicable regulations.

There are several forms of land reclamation carried out by TINS, such as revegetation and other forms of reclamation carried out in West Bangka, Bangka, South Bangka, Central Bangka, Belitung, East Belitung, and across districts.

Reclamation in the form of revegetation is carried out by planting such as Sengon, Cypress, Cashew, oil palm, and fruit trees such as Orange, Hybrid Coconut, Durian, Avocado, and Soursop.

As for reclamation in another form, it will be carried out by PT Timah Tbk in 2022, namely the land arrangement which will later be used for the construction of a State Aliyah Madrasa (MAN) in South Bangka.

"PT Timah Tbk consistently and continuously carries out reclamation as part of the company's business process that implements good mining principles," said PT Timah Tbk Corporate Secretary, Abdullah Umar.

Reclamation activities carried out by the company also seek to increase added value to the economy of the surrounding community. So that the reclamation program is carried out according to the needs of the community as well as a form of the community empowerment program.

"The reclamation carried out by the company is adjusted to the needs of the community, so that it not only restores environmental functions but also empowers the community," said Abdullah.
