SAWANG -- Working as a traditional fisherman with uncertain income is not a reason for Kamarudin to stop trying to make his family prosperous.
One of the steps he took was to take part in PT Timah's Micro Small Business Funding (PUMK) program and support his wife's cake business to get additional income for his family.
When met some time ago, Kamarudin expressed his happiness and felt greatly helped by PT Timah Tbk's PUMK program.
According to him, with PUMK capital from PT Timah Tbk, they have more flexibility in developing the business they are running. Previously, it was very difficult for him to obtain additional capital to buy new nets. This is because their income is only enough to meet their daily needs.
"I personally think PT Timah's PUMK program is quite good and has really helped me in developing my business, in order to increase income for my family," he said.
After getting a capital loan from the PUMK program, he bought nets and other fishing equipment in the hope that his catch would increase.
Apart from supporting his business as a fisherman, the capital from PT Timah Tbk is also used to develop his wife's cake business.
"With more complete fishing gear, my catches are getting better, and my wife's cake business is also getting more complete," said Kamarudin.
For him, becoming a fostered partner of PT Timah Tbk is not difficult, because he only has to complete the requirements which are fairly easy to fulfill.
Kamarudin plans to take advantage of this program again in the future after the loan is paid off because this program is very helpful in developing his business. (**)
