Applying Technological Innovation in Business Operations, PT Timah Wins the Digital Sustainability Awards 2025

PANGKALPINANG – PT Timah has been awarded the Indonesia Digital Sustainability Awards 2025, organized by Plus Idea Komunika in collaboration with JakTV. The award ceremony took place at JW Marriott Hotel, Kuningan, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (February 18, 2025).

The publicly listed company, TINS, won in the Energy and Mining category as Indonesia’s Best Digital Awards 2025 in Energy and Mining Industry for Business Process Automation and Digital Document Management System.

This award recognizes companies that have made significant contributions in developing sustainable digital solutions.

Additionally, the award aims to strengthen cross-sector collaboration and promote the integration of sustainability principles in the design, development, and implementation of digital technology—enhancing efficiency, and productivity, and creating a positive impact on businesses and society.

This year’s theme, “Creating a Digital Ecosystem through Sustainable and Inclusive Business,” underscores the importance of fostering a sustainable and inclusive digital ecosystem in today’s business landscape.

The awards ceremony was attended by the Director General of Public Communication and Media at the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Komdigi) RI, Fifi Aleyda Yahya, who highlighted the rapid digital transformation over the past three years following the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly in electronic payments.

"Indonesia’s economy grew by 5.03 percent, in line with last year’s growth, supported by strong domestic consumption, government spending, and increased investment. The technology and digital economy sectors play a crucial role in this growth," she stated.

According to her, digital technology has become a key pillar of Indonesia’s economic development, driven by sectors such as e-commerce, fintech, and other technological industries. Notably, e-commerce alone contributes over 60 percent of the total digital economy.

To support this, Fifi emphasized the government’s commitment through Komdigi to building a sustainable and inclusive digital ecosystem by expanding telecommunication infrastructure and 4G & 5G network coverage to remote areas.

The award evaluation was conducted by the Idea Komunika Research Team and validated by the jury panel, including Tuhu Nugraha from the Indonesia Applied Digital Economy & Regulatory Network (IADERN).

Three key aspects were assessed in the Indonesia Digital Sustainability Awards 2025: Digital Efficiency, Digital Transparency, and Digital Sustainability.

PT Timah’s Department Head of Corporate Communication, Anggi Siahaan, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to implementing digital technology to enhance efficiency, transparency, and corporate governance.

"Digitalization has become an essential part of our operations, from supply chain management and corporate systems to stakeholder services. Digital innovation not only drives the company’s growth but also contributes to a more sustainable tin industry," Anggi stated. (*)
