KARIMUN -- PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk has once again demonstrated its commitment to the community by providing medical treatment assistance to a child from Tanjung Sari, Lubuk Village, Kundur District, Karimun Regency, Riau Islands.
The assistance was provided to help ease the family’s medical expenses and daily needs while accompanying the child during treatment and surgery at a heart hospital in Jakarta.
The 11-year-old child had previously experienced a health condition that required serious medical attention. The condition was first discovered after the child began losing weight and frequently experienced shortness of breath and fatigue during physical activities.
After undergoing medical examinations and receiving treatment, the child was required to undergo surgery in Jakarta.
The child’s mother, Dahliana, said the assistance from PT TIMAH has been very meaningful to her family, particularly in meeting their needs during the medical treatment process in Jakarta.
According to her, while accompanying her child for treatment, the family had to prepare for various expenses, including transportation, food, and other necessities during their stay in Jakarta.
“Alhamdulillah, the assistance from PT TIMAH has been very helpful, especially for accommodation and meals. This assistance has greatly eased our burden,” Dahliana said.
Dahliana, a homemaker, said her husband works odd jobs and as a construction worker. Under these circumstances, the cost of traveling to Jakarta for medical treatment was a significant challenge for the family.
She expressed her gratitude for receiving support from various parties. Before receiving assistance from PT TIMAH, her family had also received support from the Karimun Regency Government to help with the medical treatment.
“Alhamdulillah, we also received assistance from the government and support from PT TIMAH. This means a lot to us in helping our child receive treatment,” she said.
Dahliana said the assistance from PT TIMAH also came at a very important time. Before traveling to Jakarta, the family had gone through a survey and preparation process to receive the assistance.
“At first, I was wondering where we would find the money for the expenses. I was very happy. A few days before we left for Jakarta, the assistance from PT TIMAH arrived. So, it really helped cover our travel expenses,” she said.
She also expressed her appreciation to PT TIMAH for being there to support her family during a difficult time.
