BELITUNG - PT Timah's fostered partner, Sundari, has successfully developed her own processed Sambal Lingkong product under the name “Sambal Lingkong Caesar Fa'iq”. Sundari, an entrepreneur, started her business with limited capital and a strong determination to continue to innovate.
Starting a business since 2006 with limited capital, Sundari and her husband formulated Sambal Lingkong with the main ingredients of coconut milk, grated coconut, and also fresh fish. The manufacturing process takes up to 5-6 hours to produce a quality product without preservatives that is available in 3 variants, namely original, spicy, and sweet.
Sundari revealed that the beginning of this business was due to the trust of neighbors who came to see the production process of Sambal Lingkong at home.
“In the beginning, my husband and I were making sambal Lingkong for our own consumption, then a neighbor stopped by and tasted my sambal Lingkong, and asked to make it too,” she said.
Her business journey became more fruitful after she became a partner of PT Timah in early 2002, thanks to a recommendation from the Manpower Office. Support from PT Timah paved the way for the fulfillment of various business legalities, ranging from BPOM, MUI halal certificate, to HAKI.
“Since becoming a fostered partner, Alhamdulillah, we have more capital so we can produce more Sambal Lingkong, we are also often included in exhibitions or bazaars by PT Timah,” said Sundari.
Now, Sambal Lingkong Caesar Fa'iq has been widely recognized through marketing in souvenir shops, BUMN Houses, and minimarkets in Belitung.
Sambal Lingkong Caesar Fa'iq has also been marketed in the cities of Jakarta and Semarang, even to international markets such as Taiwan and Australia.
Sundari is committed to always using natural and high-quality ingredients for her products.
However, Sundari admits that the main challenge she faces is limited labor and production capacity.
“Currently, my husband and I still do everything by ourselves, even though there is a lot of market demand, but we sometimes cannot meet the demand due to limited labor constraints,” she said.
Seeing the wider market potential, Sundari plans to add product variants by launching Kemplang Ikan and Kemplang Udang, and hopes that PT Timah will continue to assist her on an ongoing basis.
“Later, when I have more workers, I plan to produce fish and shrimp kemplang for new innovations. As a fostered partner of PT Timah, I hope PT Timah will always be there to assist this business continuously.
Caesar Fa'iq's Sambal Lingkong is proof that an entrepreneurial spirit with the right determination and support can create well-developed local micro, small and medium enterprises. Collaboration with PT Timah is not just assistance, but also encouragement for business actors to continue to advance and innovate.
