Similarly, the Chairman of the Central Bangka DPRD, Me Hoa, appreciated the swift role of PT Timah Tbk in helping the community. For him to require the cooperation of all parties.
"We appreciate PT Timah who has been quick to help people affected by the disaster. We need mutual cooperation to resolve this and PT Timah has been extraordinarily concerned about helping people affected by this," he said.
He admits that building materials are one of the things that people really need. Currently, people still use tarpaulins to cover their houses.
"The Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD) is limited, so this is needed by all parties. A lot of community donations have also been collected. We hope that this is just the beginning of assistance from PT Timah Tbk, hopefully later there will be other assistance," said Me Hoa.
The head of Kepola village, Edi Armanto, said that the basic food packages provided by PT Timah Tbk were sufficient to cover food needs for the next three days.
"A lot of basic needs, this will later be distributed to public kitchens. From the public kitchens it will be distributed to affected communities. This can take up to three days to meet community needs," he said.
He said that only PT Timah Tbk had submitted material assistance to repair residents' houses. This assistance is very much needed because many residents' houses have roof damage.
"Only PT Timah Tbk provided building materials, in this case the roof. This is really needed by the community because the roof is the one that is damaged the most. There are seven houses that have been razed to the ground," he said.**
