KUNDUR -- PT Timah distributed basic food packages to mosque administrators and the poor in the Kundur operational area, on Friday (8/3/2024). It is hoped that this basic food package assistance can help provide relief for residents amidst the unstable prices of basic commodities.
Through the Blessing Friday Program, Timah employees in Wilasi Kundur share with the community as a form of employee harmonization with the community in the PT Timah operational area.
One of the Marbots from the Nurul Iman Mosque, Kundur Village, Idris expressed his appreciation to PT Timah for the assistance of basic food packages for them.
"Currently, the prices of necessities are getting more expensive, especially before fasting and Eid al-Fitr, the prices of necessities are also rising. I feel happy and happy to get basic food packages from PT Timah, this helps me especially as I'm going to fast soon," he said.
Likewise, Fatimah (65), who works daily tapping rubber latex and lives alone, admitted that she was greatly helped by the assistance of basic food packages from PT Timah to meet her food needs.
"Cheap rubber latex prices cannot be relied on to meet daily needs, especially now that there is a lot of rain making rubber prices decrease. I would like to thank PT Timah," he said.
Meanwhile, Lurah Sawang Azman said that the assistance of basic food packages from PT Timah for the poor is very appropriate, especially since the prices of basic food items are starting to soar.
"Appreciation to PT Timah for providing basic food packages to mosque guards and also the poor. In the midst of increasing prices of basic necessities, of course, this is happy news for the recipients because it really helps them," he said.
Head of Kundur Subdistrict, Yusufian, said that the basic food assistance from PT Timah was directly beneficial to the community around the mine.
"With activities like this, the community feels directly the impact of the company's existence on the community. Residents pray and hope that PT Timah will progress and develop. So that real contributions like this can continue to be felt by residents in the company's operational areas," he said. (*)
