JAKARTA -- PT Timah is again holding a free homecoming trip through the 2024 BUMN Fun Homecoming program to help overseas communities return to their hometowns during Eid al-Fitr 1445 Hijriah.
This year, PT Timah sent as many as 700 participants from various cities in Indonesia to their hometowns in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province and the Riau Islands Province, Meranti Regency.
The 2024 BUMN Fun Homecoming Program with PT Timah was symbolically launched by PT Timah HR Director Tigor Pangaribuan at the PT Timah Representative Office in Jakarta, on Friday (5/4/2024) morning.
Previously, members of the MIND ID Mining Industry Holding PT Timah had dispatched the participants of the 2024 BUMN Fun Homecoming with PT Timah on March 29.
The 2024 BUMN Fun Homecoming was enthusiastically welcomed by the participants, who were dominated by students, but there were also the general public and children who took advantage of the free homecoming program with PT Timah.
PT Timah HR Director Tigor Pangaribuan said that the Ministry of BUMN was holding a free homecoming to make it easier for people who wanted to return to their hometowns.
PT Timah together with 84 other state-owned companies facilitated more than 80,000 homecoming travelers to return to hundreds of cities in Indonesia.
"PT Timah itself facilitated 700 homecoming travelers from various cities in Indonesia who wanted to go home to Bangka Belitung and Karimun Regency," he said.
PT Timah Tbk is collaborating with the Bangka Student Association (ISBA), the Belitong Family Student Association (IKPB), and KPMKR (Riau Islands Student Family) in organizing a Fun Homecoming with BUMN 2024.
"We should be grateful to God for being able to gather together in the Fun Homecoming Program with BUMN. Hopefully, the trip will be smooth to Bangka. Because a 24-hour trip requires stamina but when you can enjoy it it feels good," he said.
He said that PT Timah routinely holds a free homecoming program to help students and the general public overseas to return to their hometowns for Eid al-Fitr.
"Thank you for the good cooperation with ISBA, IKPB, and the Riau Islands Student Family (KPMKR) who helped make this free homecoming a success. Hopefully, everything can run smoothly," he said.
"At this moment, we ask for prayers and support so that PT Timah continues to be successful and God will bless all of our good intentions," he said.
Chair of the Belitung Student Family Association and chair of the IKPB Jakarta Branch, Firmansyah, said that in recent years PT Timah has often collaborated with them to carry out free homecoming.
"Students are looking forward to this program, two months before fasting there are already people asking about it. The enthusiasm of students in Central Java, East Java, and DIY to take part in this is extraordinary," he said.
He said that if you had to go home alone using personal funds during the month of Ramadan, it would cost a lot of money.
"The ticket price for Eid to return home to Belitung is quite high at over IDR 1 million. PT Timah's homecoming is very helpful," he said.
He hopes that next year PT Timah will again implement this homecoming program because it helps the community.
"Thank God, PT Timah was facilitated starting from departure, the excitement on the bus was also very palpable and exciting. Hopefully, PT Timah can carry out this program again," he said.
One of the Gozi homecoming participants from IKPB from Solo admitted that he was very happy about the Balik Berandun from PT Timah.
"This experience is very exciting because we can be with relatives from our hometown. I'm interested in joining because there are lots of free homecoming vibes. It feels good. This is also very helpful for boarding house children who need to save money," he said.
He hopes that next year PT Timah can again organize free homecoming so that it can help many people. (*)
