PANGKALPINANG -- Hundreds of participants have registered for the PT Timah Tbk Scholarship program at SMAN 1 Pemali in Bangka Regency for the 2023/2024 academic year.
Since it opened on April 10, 2023, until April 25, there have been 135 students who have registered. The registered students included those from the Bangka Belitung Islands Province, Karimun Regency, and Meranti Regency.
New Student Registration (PPDB) PT Timah Tbk Scholarship Program at SMAN 1 Pemali in Bangka Regency will end on 10 May.
The PT Timah Tbk Scholarship Program at SMAN 1 Pemali is intended for students who have graduated from junior high school in the company's operational areas, namely West Bangka, Bangka, Central Bangka, South Bangka, Pangkalpinang City, Belitung, and East Belitung. Apart from that, Karimun and Meranti Regencies will continue their education to the senior high school level.
Through this program, PT Timah Tbk provides an opportunity for children in its operational areas to receive free education where this program is specifically for outstanding students who are economically disadvantaged.
The PT Timah Tbk scholarship class program uses boarding with a boarding system. Various student needs to support education are also facilitated by PT Timah Tbk.
Participants who register will later take a series of tests, such as administration tests, academic potential tests, psychological tests, surveys, and medical tests.
This program was started in 2000 and has graduated around 815 alumni.
Sapta Hadiyansyah, an Alumni of SMA 1 Pemali from Belitung Regency, is happy to be part of the PT Timah Tbk Scholarship program at SMA 1 Pemali because the PT Timah Tbk scholarship lightens the burden on his parents.
"I am very proud to be part of this scholarship program. The teachers and supervisors are tireless in helping students and always support student learning activities to the fullest," said Sapta.
According to him, the role of PT Timah Tbk in advancing the world of education is very large, because the scholarship is concrete evidence, both in terms of facilities and other supporting aspects.
"Hopefully PT Timah Tbk will always be victorious and more prosperous so that it can help more needy people like us," he explained.
He invited students in Belitung to take advantage of the scholarship program because participating in this scholarship program, it can help ease the burden on parents.
"Hopefully, the younger siblings can make their parents, school, district and PT Timah Tbk proud by taking advantage of the scholarship program from PT Timah Tbk," he concluded. (*)
