CENTRAL BANGKA – The hurricane that hit Kepola Village, Pangkalanbaru District, Central Bangka Regency made Hatijah (65) lose her home. This elderly woman's house was razed to the ground after being hit by a tornado, Tuesday (29/3/2022).
This woman who lives alone can only helplessly stare at the rubble of her house. When the disaster occurred, she was attending a recitation at the Floating Mosque. He got word from his brother that his house had collapsed.
However, she chose to finish her study before returning home to see the condition of her house. She was surprised that her house was completely razed to the ground, some of his belongings were crushed by the debris of the building.
Hatijah said that her semi-permanent house is an old house that has never been repaired. So that when hit by a hurricane it immediately collapsed.
For her, this was all fate, he also couldn't do much. The grandmother, who only makes cakes every day, only hopes that there will be a miracle so that her house can be back on its feet.
"It can't be helped, everything has been a disaster, not just my house. The other houses were also damaged, only that my house was razed to the ground, maybe because it was an old house and had a lot of damage," she said when met at her residence, Tuesday (12/4/2022).
Hatijah can only clean up the remaining items, some of the building debris that she can still use to collect so that she can rebuild her house later.
However, she did not expect his house to be rebuilt and permanent, for her this was a gift from God that was conveyed through PT Timah Tbk.
“When I found out it was going to be helped rebuild, I was like a dream. This is God's sustenance through PT Timah Tbk because previously I was only able to collect the rest of the materials that were still good to be remade and even then it was washed away. Because if you want to build a good one, there is no cost," he said.
For her, the assistance from PT Timah was a blessing in the midst of the disaster she was experiencing. She was even endlessly grateful for the assistance from PT Timah Tbk who would rebuild her house.
PT Timah Tbk will build Hatijah's house with a size of 6X6 and permanent.
“This is a blessing after the disaster, many of whose houses were damaged but God through PT Timah Tbk moved my heart to build my house. Thank God, the gratitude is endless," she said.
While waiting for his house to be completed for PT Timah Tbk to build, Hatijah is currently staying at her sister's house which is next door to hers.
“Hopefully it will be finished soon so that we can live back at home. The builders have also started working, hopefully, there won't be any problems," she hoped.
For Hatijah, the house which is a legacy from her parents has become a gathering place for her family. So this house has many memories and she is very grateful that this house can be rebuilt.*
