PANGKALPINANG -- Every child has a unique journey of growth and development. Some discover the world through the classroom, some build confidence through various activities, while others require specialized support to reach their full potential.
Throughout this journey, the roles of parents, teachers, healthcare professionals, government, businesses, and the community are essential to ensuring that every child has the right to be healthy, learn, play, and thrive.
This commitment continues to be realized by PT TIMAH Tbk through its Community Development and Empowerment (PPM) programs across the company's operational areas in the Bangka Belitung Islands, the Riau Islands, and Riau Province.
PT TIMAH actively contributes to children's growth and development by focusing on education, healthcare, nutrition, and the development of children's talents and potential.
For PT TIMAH, every child deserves the opportunity to grow up healthy, receive a quality education, and develop according to their individual abilities and needs. Therefore, the company's support extends beyond children themselves to the families, schools, and communities that play vital roles in their development.
Anggi Siahaan, Department Head of Corporate Communication at PT TIMAH Tbk, stated that supporting children's growth and development is part of the company's commitment to helping build a healthy, intelligent, inclusive, and high-quality generation in support of Indonesia Emas (Golden Indonesia) 2045.
PT TIMAH also collaborates with local governments, educational institutions, community organizations, and local communities to support children's growth and development.
"Supporting children's growth and development requires a comprehensive approach that includes education, healthcare, nutrition, and talent development. Through our Community Development and Empowerment programs and collaboration with government and community stakeholders, PT TIMAH strives to create sustainable benefits for children living in our operational areas," Anggi said.
Education serves as one of the most important foundations for shaping children's future. Therefore, PT TIMAH's support for education begins at an early age.
Several early childhood education institutions have received assistance in improving educational facilities and infrastructure, including Mutiara Hati Kindergarten in Sawang Laut Village, Kundur District, Karimun Regency, and Nusa Indah Kindergarten/Early Childhood Education Center (PAUD) in South Cambai Village.
Suarni, Principal of Mutiara Hati Kindergarten, expressed appreciation for PT TIMAH's support, which was used to improve the school's facilities.
"Our printer had been broken for quite some time, making it difficult to print and photocopy learning materials and school administrative documents. Thankfully, with PT TIMAH's assistance, this issue has been resolved. Back in 2010, PT TIMAH also supported our kindergarten by providing educational learning media for our students," she said.
PT TIMAH also supports education through its Scholarship Class Program at SMAN 1 Pemali. Since its establishment in 2000, the program has benefited more than 900 alumni. For many recipients, it has become a gateway to continuing their education and developing their potential.
The company's commitment to fulfilling children's rights is also reflected in its support for inclusive education. In 2025, PT TIMAH organized Special Needs Children Seminars at SLB Negeri Koba in Central Bangka Regency and SLB Negeri Sungailiat in Bangka Regency, benefiting hundreds of teachers, parents, and children with special needs.
At SLB Negeri Muntok in West Bangka Regency, PT TIMAH also supported children's potential development through an Eco-Print Batik Skills Training program, attended by 10 students and 12 teachers.
Arif Jananto, Principal of SLB Negeri Muntok, said this was not the first time PT TIMAH had supported the school. According to him, the Eco-Print training further expanded the Batik Taber program that had previously been introduced at the school.
"We are grateful to PT TIMAH for its continuous support. Through this training, we hope to enhance the skills of both teachers and students so they will have strong vocational competencies upon graduation," Arif said.

Through its Kemunting Program, or the Stunting Reduction Movement, PT TIMAH supports efforts to prevent stunting through health education, nutrition awareness, capacity building for community health volunteers, the utilization of local food resources, and supplementary nutrition for children affected by stunting.
The program is implemented in collaboration with the Indonesian Breastfeeding Mothers Association (AIMI) Bangka Belitung, community health volunteers (Posyandu cadres), and village midwives.
Educational outreach extends beyond children. Students, teenagers, pregnant women, and parents are also among the program's beneficiaries. For example, stunting prevention education has been provided to students living at the Pemali Boarding School Dormitory in Pemali Village.
Throughout 2025, the healthy meal preparation program benefited 223 parents and children.
Meanwhile, capacity-building programs for community health volunteers were conducted in Sungai Selan, where 30 health cadres received training to strengthen their ability to assist local communities in health promotion and stunting prevention.

PT TIMAH has also strengthened stunting prevention efforts through the Genting Program in collaboration with Indonesia's National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN), benefiting 90 participants. In addition, through the Child-Friendly Daycare Program (TAMASYA), PT TIMAH collaborates with the BKKBN offices of the Bangka Belitung Islands and the Riau Islands Provinces.
In the healthcare sector, PT TIMAH continues to provide financial assistance for children requiring medical treatment. This support helps families cover the costs of healthcare and medical services for their children.
Healthcare services are also delivered through the company's Mobile Health Clinic program, which provides medical services to communities throughout PT TIMAH's operational areas, including children. (*)
