PANGKALPINANG -- PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk, together with the Bangka Regency Government, signed a cooperation agreement on joint land utilization within part of PT TIMAH’s Mining Business Permit Area (IUP) in the Jelitik Industrial Zone at Aston Emidary on Monday (April 27, 2026).

The agreement was signed by PT TIMAH’s Operations Director, Handy Geniardi, and Bangka Regent Fery Insani. The signing was witnessed by the Head of the Bangka Belitung High Prosecutor’s Office Sila Haholongan Pulungan, President Director of PT TIMAH Restu Widiyantoro, Head of the Regional Office of ATR/BPN (National Land Agency) of Bangka Belitung Province Hiskia Simarmata, Chairperson of the Bangka Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) Jumadi, and Head of the ATR/BPN Office of Bangka Adi Wibowo.

This collaboration was made possible with the support and assistance of the Bangka Belitung High Prosecutor’s Office. It represents a strategic step in optimizing the use of company-owned land in the Jelitik Industrial Zone and is expected to drive regional economic growth while creating added value for the community.

PT TIMAH President Director Restu Widiyantoro expressed gratitude for the realization of this long-awaited collaboration. He described the agreement as an important and joyful milestone.

“Thank God, today we can sit together. This is a very happy day, because the IUP land we own can be utilized for the welfare of the community,” he said.

He emphasized that as a company mandated to carry out mining activities, PT TIMAH is not only focused on increasing production and contributing to state revenue, but also bears social responsibility to improve the welfare of the people of Bangka Belitung.

According to him, this cooperation serves as an initial gateway to strengthen synergy between the company, local government, and other stakeholders in managing resources sustainably.

“This is a path for us to work together. We believe the intention is good, the goal is good, and hopefully it will provide significant benefits to the community,” he added.

The President Director also appreciated the role of the High Prosecutor’s Office, which has provided assistance since the beginning, including guidance on joint land utilization schemes such as PPLB, ensuring that the cooperation complies with regulations.

Meanwhile, Bangka Regent Fery Insani expressed appreciation for the collaboration, describing it as a model for utilizing natural resources for public prosperity.

“It is a fitting day—on the anniversary of Sungailiat City, this agreement is signed. God has given tin to Bangka Belitung to be utilized as much as possible for the prosperity of the people and the nation,” he said.

He noted that the presence of tin resources in Bangka Belitung is a blessing that must be managed optimally and wisely, even though there are often overlapping interests between mining activities and other sectors.

“This cooperation is a model of how we can utilize existing resources while also using the land for other purposes. Hopefully, this will not stop here but continue with other solutions,” he added.

The Regent also highlighted the importance of developing the eastern coastal area of Bangka, including the Jelitik Area, which has great potential to support community economic activities such as community ports and the fisheries sector.

Fery also appreciated the support and assistance from the Bangka Belitung High Prosecutor’s Office, which is expected to help resolve long-standing issues in Jelitik.

Head of the Bangka Belitung High Prosecutor’s Office, Sila Haholongan Pulungan, reaffirmed his office’s commitment to overseeing the implementation of the agreement to ensure it runs in accordance with regulations and delivers optimal benefits.

He stated that this cooperation marks an important moment in optimizing land assets that have not been fully utilized.

“This agreement is not just a document, but must be implemented with integrity. The most important thing is how it provides real benefits to the community,” he stressed.

According to him, based on the assistance provided, the resource potential in the area is estimated to be significant and could contribute greatly to the region if managed properly.

He also emphasized the importance of maintaining commitment, integrity, and synergy between PT TIMAH and the Bangka Regency Government so that this cooperation can become a driving force for improving community welfare.

“With good collaboration, we hope this land can be utilized optimally and generate broad economic impact for the community,” he concluded.(*)
