BANGKA - PT Timah Tbk yet again channels their support for oxygen supply to hospitals around the Bangka Island area. This time, RSUD Dr. H. C. Ir Soekarno gets their turn in accepting 100 of 6m cubic oxygen tubes. The help was handed over on Friday (3/8/2021) in Dr. H. C. Ir Soekarno’s Covid-19 Treatment Building.
As we know, PT Timah Tbk has distributed hundreds of oxygen tubes to aid Covid-19’s treatment as the company’s commitment to helping fasten the Covid-19’s treatment.
Dr. H. C. Ir Soekarno Regional Public Hospital’s Director, Dr. Bahrun Siregar Sutrisno, M. Kes appreciated PT Timah Tbk's oxygen auspices needed enough for the hospital to treat the Covid-19 pandemic.
“We are grateful to PT Timah Tbk that has given the oxygen support. It is very much needed this time to treat Covid-19,” he said.
He mentioned, for a full patient state in Bangka Belitung Islands Province’ Ir. H.C. Ir. Soekarno Regional Public Hospital, they need around 240 oxygen tubes a day. He conveyed, they were overwhelmed with the increase of oxygen need for Covid-19 patients.
“We could need 240 tubes a day. We faced confusion that day because of the limited amount of oxygen tubes. Thank you to PT Timah Tbk for giving away a very accurate auspice, as the public can feel the benefit right away, especially for Covid-19 patients,” he conveyed.
According to him, oxygen is crucial for Covid-19 patients to keep breathing. It can cause deaths if the patients don’t have oxygen supporting them to breathe.
“Oxygen is very important. If the patient is in a critical state they could use 10 tubes a day. That is why oxygen support is exactly what we need this time,” he claimed.
He hopes in the future, collaboration and synergy with PT Timah Tbk’s can keep on going so medical service could accept much more support.
“We hope there will be more support coming from PT Timah Tbk because help for treating Covid-19 is very much needed,” he ended. (**)
