PANGKALPINANG – Assisting government in accelerating Covid-19 aid, PT Timah Tbk will channel 100 ton oxygen to hospitals in Companies Operational Regions in Bangka Belitung Islands Province, Riau Province, and Riau Islands.
Oxygen support is a form of fast response to the rapidly increasing need for oxygen to aid Covid-19. This support is hoped to help fill in the lack of oxygen supply which happened to be a constraint some times ago.
Hundreds of tons of oxygen are keep being distributed to hospitals gradually. For early-stage oxygen, distribution has started since Friday (27/8/2021) to some regencies such as Bangka Regency, Center Bangka, and West Bangka.
Hopefully, the patients in need of oxygen could be treated as fast as possible through this oxygen support, as oxygen is mainly known as one of the needs to treat Covid-19 patients.
The Local Government appreciated this oxygen support from PT Timah Tbk. Bangka’s Regent, Mr. Mulkan mentions that this is PT Timah Tbk’s form of concern for the public in need of oxygen. For him, this support is very quick and appropriate for the current need.
Pemkab Bangka received 200 oxygen tubes to be distributed to hospitals from PT Timah Tbk. 100 tubes are already handed to RSUD Depati Bahrin since last Friday. We express many many thanks to PT Timah Tbk who never stops assisting Local Government in handling Covid-19 pandemic,” said Mulkan at Bangka’s Regent Official Residence when symbolically receiving oxygen tube from PT Timah Tbk on Thursday (2/8/2021).
Mulkan adds PT Timah Tbk has given their support for not only oxygen but also grocery packages, Personal Protective Equipment (APD), and necessaries to aid Covid-19 in Bangka Regency.
Regional Public Hospital (RSUD) Depati Bahrin Director, Yogi Yamani appreciated this oxygen support from PT Timah Tbk, as this aid came at on right time, appropriate for patients' current needs, especially Covid-19 patients.
“This support from PT Timah Tbk is extraordinary as if waiting for the rain to come in a drought. Oxygen is life support for Covid-19 patients, the function is very vital,” said Yogi Yamani in RSUD Depati Hamzah Area, after receiving oxygen aid from PT Timah Tbk on Friday (27/8/2021).
He recites, in the past few weeks the need for oxygen in Bangka Region and Bangka Belitung Islands Provinces increases along with Covid-19 case numbers. Suppliers are very limited during this time so that this aid is very helpful for Covid-19 patients.
“We need 150 of 6m cubic oxygen tubes a day. Our oxygen is supplied from PT Igas because we don't have the liquid base and gas generator, the supply came in these 6m3 tubes,” he said.
Center Bangka’s Regent, Algafry also stated oxygen support from PT Timah Tbk is very helpful to accelerate Covid-19 aids in Center Bangka.
“Thank you to PT Timah Tbk for giving oxygen support. This is very helpful to help to treat Covid-19 and it is very beneficial,” said Algafry.
Meanwhile, Regional Public Hospital (RSUD) Center Bangka, Dr. Lismayoni stated, to treat Covid-19 oxygen support is highly needed. He mentions, hospital’s oxygen need can reach 70 of 6m cubic tubes a day.
He values that PT Timah Tbk is quite perceptive in delivering oxygen needs, corresponding to the public’s need at the moment.
“Alhamdulillah, PT Timah is quite perceptive in assisting hospitals and patients here to get oxygen auspices. Hopefully, there will be more aids to come in the future,” he hoped.
West Bangka’s Regent, Sukirman appreciated PT Timah Tbk’s oxygen support as for him, this is a form of concern from the company in treating Covid-19 and preventing oxygen scarcity in the West Bangka Region.
“PT Timah Tbk has participated so West Bangka won’t suffer from oxygen scarcity. Oxygen will be channeled to RSUD Sejiran Setason as the main destination, then to health facility throughout the districts in West Bangka, where it needs to be delivered and will be supplied more if hit shortage,” he explained.
As the PT Timah Tbk Coorperate’s Secretary, Abdullah Umar Baswedan stated, PT Timah keeps consistently aids the Covid-19 pandemic throughout the company’s operational area, synergized alongside some parties.
As oxygen is one of the public’s main needs, PT Timah Tbk aids oxygen, so the community and health facilities could handle Covid-19 patients fast and accurately.
