PANGKALPINANG -- To commemorate its 49th Anniversary, PT Timah held a blood donation drive that successfully collected more than 1,096 bags of blood across the company’s operational areas.
The 49th Anniversary blood donation program, carrying the theme “For the Red and White,” is one of the company’s commitments to supporting public health as well as a form of social care for others.
This blood donation activity was carried out at eight operational points of PT Timah, including Kundur, Jakarta, Belitung, Belinyu, Toboali, Sungailiat, Mentok, and Pangkalpinang, involving employees, business partners, and the general public.
PT Timah collaborated with the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) in each operational area to conduct the blood donation. This initiative is expected to help replenish blood supplies and assist those in need.
PMI Pangkalpinang presented an award to PT Timah Tbk as one of its strategic state-owned enterprise partners for supporting the fulfillment of blood supply needs for the community. The award was handed directly by the Chairman of PMI Pangkalpinang, Muhammad Ikbal, to the President Director of PT Timah Tbk, Restu Widiyantoro, along with PT Timah Tbk’s HR Director, Andi Seto Ghadista Asapa, during the peak of the Healthy Week event in Pangkalpinang, Sunday (August 31, 2025).
The Chairman of PMI Pangkalpinang, Muhammad Ikbal, stated that PT Timah is one of their best partners, successfully contributing more than 1,000 bags of blood during its anniversary celebration.
“PT Timah is one of PMI Pangkalpinang’s best partners, contributing more than 1,000 bags of blood during its anniversary across various regions. This is a humanitarian act to help others, and with over 1,000 bags collected, it can meet the blood supply needs for one month,” he said.
Going forward, he hopes this collaboration will continue so that it can further support those in need of blood.
“We will conduct regular blood donation drives at PT Timah Tbk every three months. Hopefully, this will help fulfill the growing demand for blood. Thank you, PT Timah, for being part of this humanitarian effort,” he added.
PT Timah Tbk’s Corporate Secretary, Rendi Kurniawan, stated that the blood donation activity is a routine program held annually as part of the company’s anniversary celebrations.
“Thank you for the overwhelming enthusiasm from employees and the community. Collecting more than a thousand bags of blood is expected to support PMI’s blood supply needs,” he said.
In addition to the blood donation, PT Timah also provided free health check-ups through the PT Timah Tbk Mobile Clinic and organized community clean-up activities.
One of the donors, Indra Winardi, who participated in Pangkalpinang, shared that he is a regular blood donor and was pleased with PT Timah Tbk’s blood donation initiative.
“I’m a regular blood donor, and I’m glad PT Timah organized this event. Donating blood allows us to help others. Alhamdulillah, through this donation with PT Timah, I also received a package of basic goods. Hopefully, PT Timah will continue to hold regular blood donations because it truly helps others,” he said.
