A Drop of Blood, A Million Hopes: PT TIMAH's 50th Anniversary Community Service Month in Kundur Collects 120 Units of Blood

KARIMUN -- A total of 120 units of blood were collected during a blood donation drive held as part of PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk's 50th Anniversary Community Service Month at Wisma Kundur Hall in Perayun Village, Karimun Regency, Riau Islands Province, on Tuesday (August 4, 2026).

Held under the theme "Tin for the People," the blood donation campaign received an enthusiastic response from the community, attracting PT TIMAH employees, business partners, members of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and National Police (Polri), government officials, and residents from across the Kundur area.

The participants' enthusiasm was evident from the beginning of the event. They voluntarily took the time to donate blood, knowing that their contributions could help patients in need of blood transfusions.

Before donating, all participants underwent medical screening to ensure they met the health requirements for blood donation.

The 120 units of blood collected will be distributed through the relevant authorities to help meet the blood supply needs of patients in the community. Previously, PT TIMAH had also organized blood donation drives in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province.

Every unit of donated blood carries significant meaning for its recipient. A single voluntary donation can provide hope and even a second chance at life for patients in need.

One of the donors, Suharjo, a resident of Bedeng Komplek, said he was pleased to once again participate in a blood donation event. He explained that donating blood has become one of the ways he regularly contributes to the community, both through PT TIMAH's programs and those organized by other institutions.

According to him, blood donation is a simple act of kindness with a tremendous impact on others.

"I am happy to participate in PT TIMAH's 50th Anniversary Community Service Month blood donation drive. Besides being good for our health, donating blood is also a way to help people in need. I hope activities like this will continue because they truly benefit the community," he said.

Suharjo also encouraged the public to make blood donation a positive habit. In his view, donating blood not only helps others but also contributes to maintaining one's overall health and fitness.

"I feel happy and grateful to be able to donate blood today. I also encourage everyone to share through blood donation so we can stay healthy while helping those in need," he added.

Similar sentiments were shared by Andre Affrianto, a resident of Prayun, who expressed his gratitude for being able to once again participate in PT TIMAH's blood donation campaign.

Andre explained that he first became a blood donor after being invited by a friend. After donating several times and experiencing its health benefits, he decided to make it a regular habit.

"It feels great to be able to donate blood. At first, a friend invited me to donate. Afterward, I felt healthier and more energized, so I made it a routine. More importantly, blood donation is essential because it helps people who need it," he said.

On the occasion of PT TIMAH's 50th anniversary, Andre also expressed his hope that the company would continue to grow and expand its social initiatives so that even more communities could benefit.

"Happy 50th Anniversary to PT TIMAH. I wish the company continued success and prosperity, and may it always remain a company that cares for the community through its various social programs," he concluded.
