81st Indonesian Independence Day Celebration in West Bangka: PT TIMAH and West Bangka Regency Government Collaborate to Prepare Parade Venue

WEST BANGKA -- The synergy between PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk and the West Bangka Regency Government continues to be strengthened through support for various activities that benefit the community. One such effort is the preparation for the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia in West Bangka Regency.

As part of this year’s 81st Independence Day celebrations, the West Bangka Regency Government will hold a number of activities, including a Development Parade and a Marching Competition. The former PT TIMAH golf course will be used as one of the venues for these activities.

To prepare the venue, PT TIMAH has supported the cleanup of the former golf course area in Mentok, West Bangka. The cleanup is part of preparations to ensure the site is ready to host various activities commemorating Independence Day.

Amanda, Head of the Ideology, National Insight, Economic Resilience, Social, Cultural and Religious Affairs Division of the West Bangka National Unity and Politics Agency (Bakesbangpol) and a member of the West Bangka Independence Day Celebration Committee, said the event venue was relocated because the previous route for the Development Parade and Marching Competition could no longer be used due to ongoing construction.

"The previous route for the parade and marching competition could not be used because of the construction. Therefore, the activities were moved to the golf course. Thankfully, PT TIMAH welcomed the initiative and provided support by conducting the cleanup using heavy equipment. We will also carry out a community clean-up together," Amanda said.

She said PT TIMAH’s support extends beyond helping prepare the venue. The Company is also expected to participate in enlivening the series of activities commemorating the 81st Independence Day in West Bangka.

Amanda said the committee plans to involve MSMEs that have received support and development assistance from PT TIMAH to participate in activities at the former golf course.

"We will also ask for support so that MSMEs assisted by PT TIMAH can take part in and help enliven the Independence Day celebration at the former golf course," she said.

She said the support is part of the ongoing collaboration between the West Bangka Regency Government and PT TIMAH in supporting various activities in the region.

"PT TIMAH has consistently provided significant support for activities organized by the West Bangka Government. We hope the synergy that has been established between the West Bangka Regency Government and PT TIMAH will continue to grow so that we can work together to improve community welfare," Amanda said.

Similarly, Head of the West Bangka Regency National Unity and Politics Agency (Kesbangpol), Thanthowi, expressed his appreciation for PT TIMAH’s support in preparing for the 81st Independence Day celebrations.

He said the Development Parade and Marching Competition would start from the former PT TIMAH golf course.

"For the Independence Day celebrations, the Development Parade and Marching Competition will start at the former PT TIMAH golf course. We would like to thank PT TIMAH for the collaboration that has been established over the years," Thanthowi said.

According to him, the support provided through the cleanup of the venue is an important part of preparing the area for community activities.

"This assistance is a form of PT TIMAH’s support for the successful implementation of the Independence Day celebrations in West Bangka," he said.

The collaboration among the local government, the Company, MSME operators, and the community is expected not only to contribute to the success of the Independence Day celebrations but also to strengthen relationships and the spirit of mutual cooperation in supporting regional development and driving the local economy.
