PANGKALPINANG -- During the holy month of Ramadan 1447 Hijriah, PT TIMAH Tbk shared happiness with orphans by providing assistance to 750 orphans and underprivileged individuals across its operational areas.
The distribution of aid took place as part of the company’s Safari Ramadan program, held at six locations across the Bangka Belitung Islands Province and the Riau Islands Province.
This initiative reflects the company’s commitment to its Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility, while also strengthening relationships with communities in its operational areas. Beyond providing assistance, Safari Ramadan also serves as a platform to share joy and reinforce the values of togetherness.
At each location, recipients showed great enthusiasm in participating in the series of activities, which included religious sermons and communal iftar gatherings.
During the Safari Ramadan events, members of the Board of Commissioners and Directors directly handed over the assistance symbolically to the recipients. PT TIMAH also collaborated with local governments to ensure that the aid was distributed to the right beneficiaries.
Azira, a resident of South Bangka, expressed her gratitude and happiness for the support provided by PT TIMAH, which she plans to use for her Eid needs.
“I am very grateful for the assistance from PT TIMAH. It means a lot and will be used to buy items for Eid and also shared with my younger sibling,” she said.
Similarly, Tirta (11), a resident of Gemuruh Village, Karimun Regency, shared his excitement upon receiving the assistance. He plans to use it for worship needs and to purchase items ahead of Eid al-Fitr.
“I’m very happy to receive this support. I will use it for prayer and recitation needs, and also to buy clothes for Eid,” he said.
Indra (11), a resident of Aisyah Orphanage in Mentok, West Bangka, also expressed his happiness. He mentioned that he plans to save the assistance he received.
“I’m very happy to receive support from PT TIMAH. This is not the first time we have received assistance. I will save the money. Thank you, PT TIMAH, for your care,” he said.
This initiative is part of the company’s ongoing efforts to spread kindness and create a sustainable positive impact for communities, while making togetherness the foundation for building harmonious relationships.
