SOUTH BANGKA -- PT Timah Tbk continues its series of Social Service Month activities in celebration of its 49th anniversary by organizing various community programs in its operational areas. This time, the residents of Toboali, South Bangka Regency, were the beneficiaries of these initiatives on Friday, August 1, 2025.
Carrying the theme “For the Red and White,” this year’s anniversary celebration is marked by a spirit of togetherness and care. In Toboali, the event began with a community clean-up along the main roads, starting from Jenderal Sudirman Street to Simpang Habang on A. Yani Street.
Following the clean-up activity, hundreds of residents enthusiastically gathered at the PT Timah Wasprod Office in Toboali to take part in the anniversary programs, which included a blood donation drive and free health services provided by the PT Timah Mobile Health Unit.
The Regional Secretary of South Bangka Regency, Hefi Nuranda, expressed appreciation for PT Timah’s ongoing contributions to the community and the surrounding environment.
“We deeply appreciate PT Timah’s consistent efforts in caring for the environment through community clean-ups and supporting public health through free medical services,” said Hefi.
He noted that such social initiatives are especially beneficial for underprivileged communities with limited access to healthcare.
“Yesterday, there was a mass circumcision event. Today, we have blood donations and health check-ups. These are highly anticipated by the community and genuinely helpful,” he added.
Hefi also hoped that PT Timah’s social programs would continue beyond the company’s anniversary and be carried out in collaboration with the local government on a regular basis.
Meanwhile, South Bangka Police Chief AKBP Agus Arif Wijayanto also expressed his appreciation for PT Timah’s social efforts leading up to its anniversary.
“We fully support PT Timah’s social programs. We hope the company continues to succeed and thrive in its 49th year. Activities like these certainly contribute to social stability in the community,” he said.
The blood donation event involved PT Timah employees, local government officials, the TNI, police officers, and the general public, reflecting the company’s real commitment to supporting blood supply availability in the Bangka Belitung Islands, particularly in South Bangka.
Donors eagerly lined up at the registration table, willingly giving their blood for humanitarian purposes.
On the other hand, the Mobile Health Unit also drew significant public interest. Since early morning, residents arrived to receive check-ups for blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, and uric acid levels, as well as direct consultations with medical personnel.
“The community is greatly helped by the presence of this mobile clinic. Thank you, PT Timah, for your concern,” said the Police Chief.
The 49th Anniversary Social Service Month of PT Timah has previously been held in other operational areas such as Karimun Regency (Riau Islands), East Belitung Regency, and Bangka Regency.
