WEST BANGKA -- Gratitude and happiness radiated from the residents who took part in PT Timah Tbk’s free mass circumcision program as part of the 49th Anniversary Service Month at Wisma Sriwijaya, Mentok, on Friday (August 22, 2025).
The social program was warmly welcomed by the community. Since early morning, residents had been arriving to register their children. Participants of the mass circumcision came with their parents, families, and even neighbors who joined in to give support and prayers.
As part of the 49th anniversary celebrations with the theme “For the Red and White,” PT Timah organized various social activities, including mass circumcision, blood donation, free health check-ups, and community clean-up efforts.
For low-income families, PT Timah’s mass circumcision program was a great relief. One of them, Didik Edi Purwanto from Kampung Sawah, Mentok, expressed his gratitude for finally being able to have his son circumcised thanks to the program.
“Alhamdulillah, my son has wanted to be circumcised for a long time, but due to financial limitations, we couldn’t do it. I’m truly grateful to PT Timah for holding this mass circumcision. Finally, my son was able to go through it. Thank you, PT Timah, everything went smoothly,” Didik said.
His son, Angger Bagus Panuntun (8), a first grader at SDN 6 Mentok, also felt happy despite the slight pain.
“It hurt a little, Uncle. But I’m happy because I got gifts and money,” he said with a smile.
Sari, a resident of Tanjung Village, also expressed her gratitude, saying the program meant a lot to her family.
“Thank you to PT Timah for holding this mass circumcision. This really helps us, especially since my husband only works as a daily laborer. My son was also very happy to receive a gift afterward,” she said.
The same sentiment was shared by Santi, the mother of Alfino (7) from Kampung Kranggan Atas.
“This free circumcision from PT Timah really helped us. My son has wanted it for a long time. Thank you, PT Timah,” she said briefly.
Meanwhile, Reno (6), a student at SDN 6 Mentok, couldn’t hide his excitement. “I’m happy because after circumcision I got lots of gifts and an envelope,” he said.
PT Timah Tbk also made it easier for the participants by providing transportation to take them home after the circumcision. In addition, the company gave gifts to the children.
PT Timah’s Free Mass Circumcision Program is a routine program held by the company as part of its commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR).
Through this program, many families feel supported, and it also shows PT Timah’s contribution to improving children’s health and bringing joy to the community in West Bangka.
