BANGKA -- A total of 135 bags of blood were collected during the blood donation event held as part of the 49th Anniversary Celebration (Bulan Bakti) of PT Timah Tbk at Krida Hall, Belinyu, Bangka Regency.
The event, organized in collaboration with the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) of Bangka Regency and the Blood Donor Community of Bangka Regency, took place on Monday, July 29, 2025.
In addition to Belinyu, the blood donation event under the theme “For the Red and White” was also held in several of the company’s operational areas, including Kundur, Belitung, Jakarta, and Sungailiat.
Tego, Head of Blood Donation and Hospitals at PMI Bangka Regency, said that the event was highly positive and beneficial for the people of Bangka Belitung.
“Currently, the demand for blood in hospitals is quite high, so this blood donation drive by PT Timah Tbk truly helps PMI maintain its blood supply. Moreover, it raises public awareness about the importance of staying healthy and caring for others,” he explained.
Tego expressed hope that such social initiatives would continue to be held regularly to help meet the community’s blood needs.
“We hope PT Timah will not only carry out this activity during its anniversary but also routinely every three months. We wish PT Timah continued success and consistency in supporting humanitarian programs,” Tego added.
Meanwhile, Andolana, a representative from the Belinyu Blood Donor Community, appreciated the implementation of this initiative.
“Alhamdulillah, the enthusiasm from the Belinyu community was outstanding. Our target was 130 bags, but with PT Timah’s support, we exceeded the goal. We’re grateful to PT Timah for consistently organizing events like this. We wish PT Timah continued success,” he said.
Anggi Budiman Siahaan, Department Head of Corporate Communication at PT Timah Tbk, stated that the blood donation program reflects the company’s social responsibility toward the community.
“Through this initiative, we hope to help meet the local demand for blood and benefit patients in need. This program also represents a real synergy between PT Timah Tbk, PMI, and the community in spreading kindness and promoting public health,” said Anggi.
Besides blood donation, PT Timah Tbk also organized other social programs such as free medical treatment and mass circumcision as part of the 49th Anniversary Celebration. These initiatives reflect the company’s commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR) and improving community welfare.
