BANGKA -- Hundreds of residents gathered at the multi-purpose hall of the Division of Engineering and Operation Excellence and Mine Support of PT Timah Tbk in Sungailiat, Bangka Regency to take part in the 49th Anniversary Community Service Program of PT Timah on Tuesday (August 5, 2025).
This time, PT Timah held a mass circumcision event and free health services through its Mobile Clinic. Previously, the member of the Indonesian Mining Industry Holding (MIND ID), PT Timah, also held a blood donation and free health check-ups in Bangka Regency.
The Community Service activities were warmly welcomed by the people of Bangka. Participants came from various areas, and many children, accompanied by their parents and relatives, arrived early in the morning for the circumcision. The Head of Sungailiat Subdistrict, Farid Anshary, was also present at the event.
As part of the 49th Anniversary celebrations with the theme "For the Red and White," PT Timah has been conducting various social programs such as community clean-ups, blood donations, mass circumcisions, and free medical check-ups in its operational areas.
One of the circumcision participants, Tara, a resident of Jurung Village, expressed his happiness.
"I'm happy because I’ve been circumcised, and I got a gift from PT Timah," said Tara after the procedure.
Tara’s mother, Fitrianti, was grateful for the mass circumcision held by PT Timah, as it not only helped reduce costs but also eased her child’s anxiety.
"I joined the mass circumcision because it was a great opportunity. Alhamdulillah, it’s free, and my child wasn’t scared because there were many other children. It helped ease the nervousness and was a financial relief for parents too," she said.
Meanwhile, a resident of Nelayan II Malang said he was grateful for the chance to receive treatment from the Mobile Clinic.
"I had issues with my eyes, ears, and headaches. Alhamdulillah, PT Timah provided free medical treatment today through the Mobile Clinic. I was examined by a doctor, and the service was very friendly," he shared.
The Head of Sungailiat Subdistrict, Farid Anshary, appreciated the 49th Anniversary Community Service activities carried out in their area. He noted that PT Timah regularly conducts social initiatives that are truly beneficial for the local community.
"PT Timah’s efforts are extraordinary. We express our highest appreciation for this activity. The collaboration and partnership with PT Timah have brought many benefits. We are very proud of this event, and we hope PT Timah continues to contribute meaningfully to the community," he said.
The 49th Anniversary Community Service activities have also been held in various other regions, including Jakarta, Kundur, Meranti, Belitung, West Bangka, and Bangka Regency.
