PANGKALPINANG -- Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are one of the backbones of the Indonesian economy, therefore PT Timah since 2000 has consistently supported MSMEs in the Company's operational areas.
PT Timah, through the Micro and Small Business Funding Program (PUMK), has helped as many as 9,787 MSMEs in various cities in Indonesia, especially in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province, Riau Province, and Riau Islands Province.
The PT Timah PUMK program has been running for 24 years and provides many benefits for MSMEs. They are encouraging MSMEs to be independent and competitive so they can successfully penetrate the international market.
Not only supporting capital, through the PUMK program PT Timah also provides guidance, training, and promotional assistance for MSME players through exhibition activities.
In semester 1 of 2024, members of the MIND ID Mining Industry Holding distributed IDR 1.2 billion to 43 MSMEs in Bangka Belitung Province and Riau Islands Province.
A total of 43 MSMEs received funds from PT Timah which were channeled through Bank BRI, including those in the West Bangka, Central Bangka, South Bangka, Pangkalpinang, East Belitung, and Karimun regions.
In 2024, PT Timah will facilitate MSME partners fostered by PT Timah to take part in exhibitions at local and national levels to help promote their products.
Through the PUMK program, PT Timah targets various business actors from various service sectors, creative economy, industry, trade, livestock, agriculture, culinary, maritime, fisheries, crafts, and others.
In 2023, PT Timah disbursed funds of IDR 6.8 billion to support capital for 191 MSMEs in operational areas. The distribution of PUMK funds is channeled through Bank BRI.
A total of 20 partners trained by PT Timah will be promoted to class in 2023. MSMEs that are upgraded can be seen from several indicators such as an increase in the number of workers, an increase in turnover, and the involvement of local communities to produce products.
PT Timah's Head of Corporate Communications, Anggi Siahaan, said that PT Timah continues to encourage the development of MSMEs in the company's operational areas in an integrated manner starting from capital, coaching, training, and marketing.
