SELAT PANJANG -- Jumirah's grocery store business is growing after becoming a partner fostered by PT Timah Tbk through the Micro Small Business Funding Program (PUMK).
This resident of Jalan Kencana Selat Panjang, Meranti Islands Regency, said that initially he only opened a small business at home selling basic necessities to make it easier for local residents to shop closer.
"Initially I opened this basic food shop because I wanted to help the family financially. My husband is a freelance daily worker whose income is uncertain, while the family's daily needs are increasing," she said.
She was grateful that at that time, even though her basic food business was still small, it was enough to help them meet their daily needs. So she thought about expanding her business.
After almost 20 years of selling necessities, her business did not develop significantly due to limited capital. Because the income from the shop is used to meet daily needs.
"There are quite a lot of buyers who shop at my place and I often have difficulty meeting their requests and needs due to a lack of business capital," explained Jumirah.
After participating in the socialization of PT Timah Tbk's PUMK program, she intends to continue developing her business through capital loans.
"After receiving this information, I felt interested in the PT Timah Tbk PUMK program, because of the many conveniences. Finally, I decided to take advantage of this program, and thank God, it helped my business," she said.
After receiving a capital loan, her business experienced a significant increase in the number of goods sold, so it could serve more consumers.
"Thank God, my business is growing because it can provide the needs that my customers want. With capital from PT Timah, I stock merchandise so that this shop is busy with buyers. Because the goods they need are there," she said.
She hopes that in the future PT Timah Tbk's PUMK program can continue because she has directly experienced the benefits of this program to develop her business.
"We small business people feel helped by the PUMK program from PT Timah Tbk. Hopefully, this program can continue to help the small business community so they can continue to develop their businesses and also be able to have competitiveness," she said. (*)
