To Encourage MSMEs to Develop, President Director of PT Timah Tbk Introduces PUMK Program in Front of Hundreds of Students

PANGKALPINANG -- President Director of PT Timah Tbk Achmad Ardianto introduced the Micro Small Business Funding Program (PUMK) to students in Bangka Belitung in the Digital Transformation forum and the Launching of the Center for Innovation and Community Entrepreneurship, at Graha Timah, Wednesday (9/11/2022).

This was conveyed by the President Director when he was a speaker at the Key Innovation Leadership Seminar and Digital Transformation of Entrepreneurship as well as the launch of the Center for Innovation and Community Entrepreneurship.

The event was attended by the Acting Governor of Bangka Belitung Ridwan Djamaluddin, Special Staff to the President of the Republic of Indonesia for Innovation, Education and Outer Regions Billy Mambrasar, Deputy Chancellor I of the University of Bangka Belitung Nizwan Zukhri and Director General of Higher Education Kemenristek Dikti Prof Nizam.

Achmad Ardianto said the PUMK program is part of the SOE TJSL program which focuses on business development and MSME development.

He explained that the purpose of the PUMK program is to help SMEs and cooperatives that are already running to develop and progress. In addition, to encourage business activities and economic growth of the community as well as creates equitable development, through the expansion of employment and business opportunities.

On this occasion, the President Director also said that PT Timah has a platform for new startups who want to develop through the TINSKUBATOR program. This is a form of preparation for the current digital era.

"The PUMK program is the company's effort to support MSMEs that want to progress and develop. After we identify the MSMEs, we will align them with the Government's program. So they can support each other," he said.

PT Timah said he is part of the community in its operational area, so the company continues to participate and contribute to community development and regional development.

"The company is trying to establish a shared value so that the community and the company both create something that can be mutually beneficial," he said,

Until now, he said, PT Timah had provided revolving funds for more than 9,787 players to support the development of MSMEs in the company's operational areas.

Achmad Ardianto conveyed that TINS ??also encouraged MSME players to be technology literate and take advantage of the available marketplace. So product marketing is expanding.

"In this technological era, we encourage fostered partners' products to be known by people outside Pangkalpinang, people can know there are interesting and good products, then they can choose quickly. Digitalization provides opportunities for MSMEs to continue to grow," he said.

On this occasion, he also conveyed his motivation to the students to continue to develop and improve their knowledge, and skills, and implement good character to create quality human resources.

TINS said he supports the Center for Innovation and Community Entrepreneurship which has been present in Bangka Belitung. He hopes that this can be utilized more optimally so that it can continue to produce productive and innovative MSME actors.

Meanwhile, PJ Governor of the Bangka Belitung Islands, Ridwan Djamaludin, expressed his appreciation for the presence of PIKM. He hopes that with PIKM, Bangka Belitung youth will be able to transform and innovate.

"We, Bangka Belitung, were indeed late to start, but not to be late in advance, so this acceleration and innovation step is very important. Through these activities and innovations we can help build and produce something to be proud of," said Ridwan.

The presidential staff, Billy Mambrasar is optimistic that PIKM will develop well in the Bangka Belitung Islands with various potentials.

"When I visited Bangka Belitung two months ago, I saw a lot of potentials that could be optimized, such as Aquaculture at UBB, which has aquaculture techniques in fisheries and has been well managed by the campus and its students," said the native Papuan.

Introducing MSME Products to the Presidential Staff

President Director of PT Timah Tbk, Achmad Ardianto together with HR Director of PT Timah Tbk Yennita accompanied special staff to the President of the Republic of Indonesia for Innovation, Education and Outer Regions Billy Mambrasar to visit the products of fostered partners who were participating in the bazaar in the corridor of Griya Timah, Wednesday (9/11/2022).

These TINS ??fostered partners deliberately market their products in digital transformation activities and the launch of the Community Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center which was held at Graha Timah.

The President Director seemed to introduce TINS ??fostered partners' products to Billy, one of which he introduced was Jeruk Kunci Mirando Drink, which fostered partner crafts and others.

"We allow them to market their products, such as at TINS ??Gallery and several other places. We continue to encourage their products to develop," he said.

"It is important for us that the community can feel the benefits," he continued.

Billy on this occasion also provided advice and input to TINS-fostered partners to develop their products including capital that could be accessed by MSME actors.

"The product can be developed and there is a lot of access that can be used for development and marketing," said Billy.
