KUNDUR -- Commemorating the month of National Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) PT Timah Tbk Riau Islands and Riau Operational Areas held a Mining Safety seminar which was held at the Multipurpose Building Wisma Timah Kundur, Thursday (3/2/2022).
In celebration of OSH Month which is commemorated every February 12, PT Timah Tbk Riau Operational Area and Riau Archipelago carried out a number of activities to improve skills in emergency response situations.
In addition, the company also carries out activities to hone the skills of employees so that they are always alert and responsive to work safety in various situations.
Middle Mining Inspector from the Directorate General of Mineral and Coal, Directorate of Engineering and the Environment, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Firmansyah, explained that OSH is very important to be understood and implemented in the work of all employees.
He also appreciated that PT Timah Tbk in the Riau and Riau Islands Operational Area in 2021 managed to record zero fatalities
"PT Timah Tbk in the Riau Islands and Riau Operational Areas in 2021 there will be no accidents or fatalities. And the work accident graph at PT Timah is increasingly showing a downward trend and this is very good," he explained.
He assessed that the work safety transformation process that had been implemented by the management of PT Timah Tbk was good and could be implemented by employees in 2021. He hoped that this could be maintained.
The Mining Safety Seminar in commemoration of National K3 Day was attended by the General Manager of PT Timah Tbk Achmad Syamhadi, Head of the Kundur Metallurgical Unit Nono Budi Priono, Firmansyah Adi from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Director General of Mineral and Coal, Rufindy from the Ministry of Manpower and Industry of Karimun Regency, Ery Novrijal from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.
